Family, Friends Say Farewell to Slain Visalia LDS Bishop
Family and friends paid their final respects to Clay Sannar, a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints bishop shot to death Sunday in his Visalia church office. The service was held Friday in the sanctuary of the LDS stake center on Lovers Lane.

Unemployment Edges Up in August
August's unemployment numbers are out, and while companies added 67,000 jobs last month, the unemployment rate climbed for the first time in four months. The president, joined by members of his economic team, said despite the recent increase in unemployment, the economy is rebounding. President Obama urged Congress to pass the Small Business Jobs Bill when they return to work later this month.

Labor Day Weekend Traffic Expected to be Busier
If you're headed out on the road this weekend, you should expect a lot of traffic. AAA predicts an 10% increase statewide in the number of people traveling over the long weekend. That translates to about three and a half million more people in California on the roads, traveling 50 miles or more. Air travel is up as well, with a 5% bump over last year.
